Question Crate Size?

Planning WAY ahead for getting a puppy later this year (hoping spring/summer). I have an extra large crate still from my last dog- a mastiff. (And recently used it when I dog sat another giant breed dog.) It's roughly 30 inches wide (maybe 36?) by 48 inches long, and around 36 inches high. I do have a divider for puppy years, but will this be too big for an adult golden?

I just want to plan now if I should sell this one and buy a smaller crate.

Thanks for the input!

Rukie's crate is 42L x 28W x 31H inches with a divider. It is plenty big for him even fully grown. He sleeps in there at night some although we haven't closed the door on it since he was about 9 months old. I have tried replacing it with a dog bed but he wants the crate. A smaller crate probably would have worked because he has not been destructive or getting into stuff when we are gone since he was 8-9 months old but not all Goldens are that trustworthy.
