Yesterday, before heading out to Aedan's CCA event, I set up a new set of weaves -- portable and easily customizable. I set them up on the driveway with a remote treat n train -- the dogs all had fun
Aedan easily earned his CCA -- I would post a pic but am honestly concerned about the ads or whatever that have started popping up around posted pictures LOL So if you are a friend on FB or a member of my doggie family group, you can view the pics there
I always find CCA evaluations interesting when a judge is thoughtful in discussing what he/she is seeing. You learn so much about not only the breed but perhaps as importantly, how different judges can look at the same dog and have differing opinions. The judge I stewarded for was very forthcoming and kind in discussing both the strong points and the weak points she found with each dog and was unhesitating when asked whether a team should consider the breed ring.
She, btw, was the same judge who called a heeling pattern for the gaiting -- much easier for us obedience people to understand ; normal for a few steps, fast, normal, about turn, fast, normal halt --- loved it!
The other 2 judges kept their comments -- well absent. I found that disconcerting.
Today I have a rental and am also planning on working some with agility -- today's plan is to take my pause table out of storage and work some with that as well as some other element of weaves; I have not decided on that yet but I have recently started working with Weaves that WOW so while yesterday's session was an introduction to the new poles and the start of round the clock entries, today's may be entries at speed? we'll see.
