Red face Moe went Dock Diving

I feel like every time I post about Moe it's health related. Just felt like I should show him having a little fun. We took him to his first Dock Diving experience (ever) this weekend and he was great. All our training really shows. He was extremely well behaved. It's really the first time we've had him with a large group of dogs. I have to say our baby impressed us. I worried myself to death about his feet, elbows, and everything else.... I've never worried about so much in my life, but he went up on the dock, sat and stayed where he was placed and then away he went. He really seemed to love it. He was invited to come and compete with the club at a National Event in a few weeks. (not sure if he's ready, but it was nice they felt he was)

Best part was when we came home he wasn't sore and he's perfectly fine this morning. I do think we are going to continue with the training program we are on. He is really doing well with it and I think it may take us a little longer to get there but we are still going to proceed with our hunt training.

I managed to get one picture during his first jump...

Great shot!

Also great to hear he wasn't sore last night or this morning.

Looks like a lot of fun for you both.

That sounds so fun. We went and watched one time but Rukie was a little guy not swimming yet so we didn't try it. The closest place I have found is almost two hours away. I'm glad Moe had pain-free fun. Maybe they could make up a canine triathlon with some hunt activity, dock diving, and agility for the super athletic dogs. Rukie would really enjoy watching that from his spot on the couch

It is fun and this was a great group of people. We keep debating with each other whether Moe should just be a couch potato... We want to protect him, but he's also high energy so we feel like he needs exercise. We have been trying to explore some different avenues for him. This one was fun. He will always be a pet first, but he definitely needs something to do. He's unfortunately not right for conformation. I'm afraid agility and rally would be just as hard on him as field work. Dock Diving seemed to be a little less rigorous on the body, but still requires a lot. I didn't really know much about it so this was a good experience for all of us.

It would be really neat if they had sort of an all around competition...

He's just got the sweetest disposition. If all else fails he will be a well trained cuddle bug.
