House training - accidents in the evenings
My four month old is fine overnight, in the mornings and early afternoon - no accidents indoors at all, he's brilliant. However, during the late afternoon and early evening he usually has one or two accidents inside due to playing harder and, hence, drinking more water. He's also of course more distracted due to his play sessions with my other dogs.
Even extra vigilance and care by myself and my wife isn't usually enough, we can take him out once every half an hour and he'll still probably manage to have one small accident indoors. He won't always ask to go out either, sometimes he's playing, suddenly stops, urinates, then carries on playing. We'll then take him out to try and drive it home that he's supposed to go outside, not inside.
I realise that full bladder control won't be achievable in a four month old but I'm wonder if there's anything else that I can try to avoid the evening 'distraction' accidents.
The current weather in my part of the world doesn't help either - it's been a cool and wet summer so far so it's not always possible to go outside and play in the evenings.
I'm certain he doesn't have a bladder infection, etc due to the fact that he's fine at night and other times of the day. If he had an infection he'd be drinking a lot all day (and night) and urinating (with even more associated indoor accidents) far more often.
