How much food do I feed my dog

Hi Luna turned 2 years old on March 28th. She is 61 pounds and not very active since she’s been spayed. I am switching her to the Royal Canin golden retriever food. How much should I feed her? One vet said she could stand to lose a little weight yet and another said she was ok. She was on blue buffalo 3 cups a day. 1.5 cups x2.
She gets overheated easy especially in the Texas heat so I am trying to make sure she doesnt gain weight and could lose some. I don’t want to under feed her so she’s not getting nutrition either. The bag has weight at 55lbs and 66lbs?

The RC doesn't have a Golden Retriever weight loss I don't think, so I would say start with 25% less then whats recommended on the bag. Also, any and everrything cold will burn calories as 80% of a warm-blooded animal is to keep the core temperature up. So if you're constantly cooling the body it will burn more calories reheating itself. So for example, keep ice cubes in the water dish as often as you can, feed RAW any veggies as they are much harder to digest then cooked ones so most of it isn't absorbed but what is is healthy and freeze the veggies. Remember cold it best.

And if you're starting with 25% food, that's with no treats. Keep your veggie and other treat sizes very small, pea sized, as dogs only really taste salt and fat and a hint of sweet, they really "taste" with their nose and somewhat go by texture. So there is no reason to give large pieces. 1 baby carrot should be cut at least in 8 pieces. A good idea is to take a whole bag and pre-cut them and put them in a ziplock bag and toss them in the freezer
