Help finding a puppy/young adult service?

Does anyone know of anyone that provides a service that helps in locating a puppy? Or willing to act in such a capacity?

Clearly there are many knowledgeable people on this forum. I would appreciate hiring someone that can help our family with the process of researching/selecting a breeder/puppy.

Contact the breed referrals at your local golden retriever clubs. That's the easiest way to find a pup, as typically you cannot list a puppy with a breed referral if all clearances are not there.

This is the second post in a week or two from someone who wants to hire someone to help them find a puppy. Why would you not want to do that research yourself? It's not that daunting and it's part of the learning process. You learn a lot about health clearances and socialization and you will want to develop a relationship with your breeder. If she or he is a good, responsible breeder, they will be in your life for the life of the dog. Plus, only you and your family know what you are looking for in a puppy, in terms of energy and lifestyle and what you plan to do with your dog. I encourage you to take this on yourself. Paying someone might get you a puppy - but it might not be the best puppy for you.

Thanks for the judgement.

My post inquired about "help with the process of researching/selecting". I am not asking someone to drop off a dog to my house. I am on this site to learn more and that is what I am doing. There are people on here who dedicate their lives to this and I am simply interested in tapping into that knowledge to help us make the best decision. I guess I am humble enough to think that I could use help rather than become an expert myself by spending time on the internet.

Sorry - I simply read those two sentences and assumed you wanted to hire someone to help locate a puppy.

There was no judgement. I really was honestly surprised, especially since it was the second such inquiry this week. It can be daunting to find a good breeder for sure, but there is a lot of really good and helpful information around, including on this forum. And lots of people willing to help you go through clearances, etc. The stickies at the top of this page are good, too.

Where are you located? What are you looking for in a dog? Are you active, want a quieter, lower energy dog, etc?

Thanks. I apologize for being defensive. We are all passionate about dogs!

Prism (Robin) kindly offered to help me in return for a donation to the Golden Retriever Foundation. I was able to find a few breeders that I have confidence in and might use in the future. But we will be getting a wonderful 1 year old Golden next month that she got a lead on. And I learned some new skills along the way (I might be dangerous now).

We are beyond excited!

Thanks for offering to help as well.

Prism is very passionate about GR, that does not surprise me. Consider yourself fortunate that she has assisted in your search.
