Thoughts on Pedigree/Liter?

Hi Everyone, wanted to reach out and get the specialists(this forum) thoughts on this breeder and a liter I'm looking at.

Both Pedigrees are below. The kennel is based out of Nebraska and is 'Platte River Retrievers'.
Seems like a very great place and good people. I'm not real familiar with pedigrees, but it does seem to be a great field background for hunting.

I wasn't sure what "Clear by parentage" meant on the female side.

Thoughts???

Clear by parentage means that both the dam and sire of the female tested and came back clear. So if both the parents are clear, the offspring can't be a carrier or an affected, it's only option is to be clear cause a clear is homozygous or has identical alleles.

Hi-Tide's Danger Scone - "Lana"

The dam is missing a cardiac clearance and I don't think you can states she is ichy clear by parentage if one of her parents is also "cleared by parentage". I thought it could only be one generation and the next must be tested to make sure.

Think this is a good decision for 1200 or should I hold off for a test with a female with the heart test?

Also is "normal" considered healthy?

I wouldn't pay any amount of money to a breeder if the dog doesn't have the four core clearances. So, for me, this would be a pass. Can you ask the breeder why there is no cardiac clearance on the dam and if the Sir's eyes have been done but not submitted? But you have to decide what risks to take. The Code of Ethics has a minimum of four core clearances. It's strange that they did extra testing (PRA, PRCD, Icthy, NCL) but didn't complete the core ones. So either it's done and it's failed; or it's done, passes, and they never submitted it; or it's not done. You won't know until you talk to the breeder.

I think the price is very reasonable. The CERF being out of date would not worry me in the least. Nor would a missing heart clearance on this particular pairing.

You need to consider the overall pedigree and clearances of ancestors too.

I wonder what your plans are for this dog. If you are looking for a low energy, just hang with me sort of dog you may be very disappointed. There are always a variety of personalities in every litter but pretty sure this pup will have loads of energy and need a job. Awesome if you do obedience, hunting or agility so be honest on what you are looking for in this pup.

Trying to understand the high energy needed. I have high energy kids, a 8 and 3 year old. Wife likes to go hiking/running(i used to). I go hunting couple times a year and try to stay busy myself.

Were getting into four wheeling and camping and looking for something to go with us and be a friend to the kids away/at home.

I am alittle worried that at 6 years old ill have a crazy actice dog
