Puppy wanted in Kansas

Amber will soon be nine years old, so I am looking for a female golden puppy. When we got her as a puppy, our lab Lucy was ten and helped a lot with the training. She was quick to correct Amber if she got out of line [like biting Lucy's tail]. Goldens are scarce in this area [goldendoodles are plentiful]. I have contacted several kennels, but I have only found males that are available now. Any suggestions for sources would be appreciated. I want to see the puppy before I buy, so I'm not interested in a puppy that has to be shipped. That's why I want a Kansas breeder.

I'm not in KS nor do I have any KS suggestions but you should realize that good breeders are not going to pop an unseen pup onto a plane to you - if you find someone who is willing to do so, they are a USDA shipper not a great breeder. Not that good breeders never ship- some do- but you'd have had tons of opportunity to get to know the puppies via video and photos.
If you find a litter whose sire and dam have at a minimum the core 4 clearances, and they are not in KS but close enough to drive to, don't rule them out... it's just one trip there and back... and worth the drive to get to a super nice litter w a great breeder.

Why do breeders not list their locations? I don't want to fill out a questionnaire if they are located beyond driving distance.

If you contact any of the GRCA member clubs, you are likely to only be referred to club members >> those that live in that general area. Depending on your location in Kansas, the Kansas City GRC is your first option, then the St Louis and Oklahoma City clubs, or even Mile-Hi in Colorado. I know there are several litters in the St Louis area that will be available in the next 3-6 weeks.

Just google the breeder first and verify where they are. You'd probably want to be able to see more about their dogs, and health clearances, and how they raise their pups, etc anyway.
