Has anyone ever had a live tree up in their house and a six month old puppy at the same time? I am wondering how that is going to go....

Penny was 11 months on her first Christmas. Her tail wagging was the biggest problem. We hung soft, stuffed ornaments on the bottom branch; they had been a kid project from years before.

I have a few Christmas decorations that are up all year.
My Christmas dishes are stored in one closet, the Christmas figurines in another. I created special storage for my Santa ornaments out of Elfa baskets - made a liner with a top and padded layers. A few ornaments are stored in their original boxes. Fifteen drawers worth of Santa ornaments, so my husband made a base on heavy-duty rollers to make it easier to use.
The dog and cat tree alternates with my college tree. This year it will be the dog and cat tree, though I am a bit concerned about the puppy and ornaments. We already have to be careful with ornament placement due to the cats in the tree.
I will start on the trees next weekend.

I went to Home Depot and got my tree yesterday, assembled it and it has been standing in the living room all night. I wanted to see what Milo would do before it was all decorated (I had this picture in my mind that he could knock it over). He barked at first but now he is fine with it. Today I will decorate it

The tree is the only thing up, my other decorations will wait til next weekend.. maybe.

When I lived at home we always decorated the weekend before Thanksgiving but now that my tree is up mom has the urge to get her two trees up. I really got in the mood yesterday when we went shopping and all of the stores are playing Christmas music and have their decorations out.

I used to work at a Hallmark and we would start Christmas decorations/music in JULY and keep it going all they way til Christmas day.. yuck, it really killed the Christmas mood.

Wow, that is early!

We dont put our tree up until the first week or so of December. Don't know what we are going to do this year with Sadie. Probably no ornaments, at least no glass bulbs.

Too early for me! We put up a real tree, about a week before Christmas. I leave it up until Jan 6th and hubby is fretting at that worring about fire hazard. We have four cats, so unbreakables have always gone towards the bottom. First week of December I decorate inside the house.

No tree for us yet!! It is going to be close to 70 degrees (F) here today so sure does not feel like Xmas weather yet. We usually put up our trees (one upstairs and one downstairs) the first week of December. I do have 3 presents bought already though!!!!

Nope, no tree yet! I am planning on breaking out Ranger's holiday collar soon, though. It has snowmen and cardinals on it so he'll be in the spirit of Christmas! I think we're also going to hang up the outside lights this week, but we'll probably wait until Dec 1 before the tree is up.

My co-worker used to play Christmas music the first day of November...by Christmas Day, I was all Christmas-music'ed out!
