This was Tucker's 1st Christmas as an "adult" and for the first week that our tree was in the house and decorated Tucker payed no attention to it. Then about 2 weeks ago I guess something shiny caught his eye and he went wild destroying ornaments that both my fiance and I have each had since we were children... This has been a daily demolition for my dear Tucker... Yesterday, Tucker did the worst of all... He chewed through the Christmas lights right on the tree... Normally Tucker isnt like this He is normally a very sweet boy which is why we don't crate him... I take him to the park everyday and on those days he wasn't as destructive but on days when it was down pouring was like a tornado his my house broken ornaments tinsel and now christmas lights strewn all over... Im actually pretty nervous for next year.. well we will see...

I use an X-pen around my tree to keep it pet free!

Train a really solid "leave it" this year.

I don't know how I'd handle three dogs loose around the fully loaded Christmas tree without a good "leave it" command.

But even as it is - the dogs are never in the room with the tree if I'm not in there as well. I can just imagine Bertie chewing up all the cords and dragging the tree down.... o_O

Just fyi - tinsel is really bad to have in your house if you have dogs and cats, even the nondestructive ones.
