Hi everyone, apologies for the delay... we're investigating the issue. What will help us is if you guys can give us an approximate time of the day when you're experiencing the slowdown and what area of the forums you're trying to access. Thank you again everyone!
Can't even get it to post now! Keep getting database error. And literally seconds before that, was trying to get the "new Posts" button to work and it would not move off this page. This is really bad this morning.
I had issues just one minute ago replying to this thread. Rec'd the data base error three times before I got the reply screen. I also tried to send you a PM and got the same error.
I'm seeing the problem all the time now, day, noon, night. No good time to be on. Write a post and lose it. Click on a thread and database error. It was happening sporadically but now it's constant.
I've been on here about an hour today and am so frustrated I'm calling it a day.
Good luck, I know it's tough to track these problems down
It's hard to pinpoint times of day, as it has been generally slow for several days and last night, it was very unreliable. I got numerous database errors during the night and finally gave up. This morning, it was fine for me until about 30 minutes ago. Since then, the board has been slow again, and posting or moderation actions seem to end in database errors again. For me, this is happening all over the forum.
I think it started on 12/24 and has been bad every day, except for today.
The times I think were around 8:00-9:00 A.M. Central Time and 5-6 P.M. Central Time. This happened anytime I tried to read a multipage topic and to reply to it. Kept getting the internet explorer msg. It happened in:Golden Ret. Bridge, Main Discussion, Golden Ret. Cases.
It was acting up again at 1:44 PM Chicago Time.
I was trying to send two private msgs. and post in Golden Ret. Cases and it kept saying Internet Explorer and I had to use back arrow and keep trying again and again until it worked!
Right now it seems to be fixed for the first time in several days. I hope it stays stable so I can do more than "drive by" posting before it freezes or sends me to the interwebs void.
Yes, it was actually worse a while back, and I almost gave up on coming to the forum, then seemed better for a while.
I have noticed something else (not just on this forum). Lately, as I am moving my cursor over an ad (I have not clicked on it, just moved cursor across it) the ad opens up. Really annoying
It's better... but I still have to refresh or click twice because of the website stalling. I'm used to this amount of stickiness with Facebook (which is its own level of notworkiness), but GRF used to be pretty quick.
I hang out at other forums, as well as check various other sites every day + work online, and everything else moves quick like normal.
I was posting a message to somebody a half hour or so ago and UGH it took forever....
Been acting up with me also. I am also having a hard time signing in lately, took me forever this morning and than it said to try again in 15 minutes, I had my quota? After 15 minutes, I could finally sign in.
I tried to get on here before we left this morning around 5:30 AM (eastern) from the front page clicking on the recent threads it took forever and I finally gave up and signed out.
Just a thought...but I've noticed I only have all of the problems that have been previously described when I use Firefox. I've had to completely close my Firefox browser and restart to get the website to connect again, but only sometimes for short periods of browsing on the website.
I hope I don't jinx myself, but I've not experienced any problems so far using Internet Explorer.
It may possibly be a browser compatibility issue that has recently cropped up, especially if the website or possibly Firefox has been recently upgraded.
I use the mobile app and it has been acting up. Some threads won't load. My post doesn't show so I sometimes double post and my unread is not highlighted.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
