I loved this book. It is an amazing story about an amazing dog. I also enjoy the way the author goes into studies on animal behaviors to theorize about what Merle may be thinking and why he does what he does.

Pros:
Great story, A really fun read
Cons:
Perhaps a bit much of attributing human emotions and thought processes on the dogs, but then again dont all dog lovers do that?

A great story of an outdoor man, who rescues and keeps an injured dog he found while on a hunting trip.Merle, as Ted names the dog, teaches his owner how to live in the now and not the past or the future. Funny, tragic, dramatic and the photos included in the book will take your breath away, also check out the author's website for more pictures of Merle and his life.
This is a 2 box Kleenex read.

I loved this book! It was one of those hard to put down books. I personally didn't care for the parts where he would cite some study that was done to try to explain Merle's behavior. I loved how free spirited Merle was. When I get my copy back from the folks I have loaned it to, I am going to read it again!
