| A bunch of raw diet questions Hi, so we had a golden years ago and we did a raw diet, but Max has been gone since I was 9 and my dad doesn't seem to remember anything about what he did for his raw diet. So lately we have just been getting a lot of stuff for Tuco my new 3 month old puppy and we have been feeding him meat scraps, chicken necks, chicken liver, some bony pork scraps, some sirloin steak trimmings, drumsticks, and assorted meat, fat, and bone trimming we grab from the butcher. I'd say we give him mostly chicken and pork, usually very bony like drumsticks and necks, and a tiny bit of beef. I'm wondering what meat would you say I want mostly like beef pork and what parts should I feed, if you guys could give a couple examples of a mix of things I would combine in each meal. Ie 20% chicken necks 30% steak trimmings of fat and meat, 40% pork shoulder 10% chicken liver Also I heard omega 3 is hard for them to get so is there any good fish to give to them and how often, or is there a certain meat or organ that I can give to supplement , and how often. Finally, im planning to give Tuco a little bit of blended veggies and fruit, what veggies and fruits should I include and how often. Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the help. | Bumping see if I can get more oppinions, I don't think they need nearly that much fruit and veg in the wild would all they get is stomach contents, I also don't see why grind it up, that just throws away a lot of the dental health benefits and muscle development in dead and neck. | I don't feed raw (except for a couple of necks and a teeny tiny bit of organs when they are included in the poultry we eat) but if you want to feed prey model raw (which does not include fruit, veggies, grains, etc.) here is a good resource for you to get started : How to Get Started | Prey Model Raw . If you scroll down the page it will get to puppies. Since you do not seem too sure about how to go about feeding raw, I would recommend reading a lot before jumping into it, especially with a puppy. You want to provide complete and balanced nutrition which I think can be achieved but needs some planning.

| No, I don't do fruits and veggies unless it's the occasional table scraps.
