I am so sorry to read of Harley's passing. I loved looking at his pictures and as others have mentioned your love and devotion to him and his quality of life comes through every post and picture.

My girl is a garden "helper" too and so I can imagine how bittersweet the upcoming season will be. My thoughts are with you.

Oh Harley sounds like so much fun... my parents' lab comes and picks tomatoes out of my raised garden bed and wags her tail like crazy... she is also one who steals things just for attention, usually a kitchen towel. Yes, I imagine spring will always bring a lot of memories but this one may be more bitter than sweet.

Yes, Mack is my collie boy, a real sweetheart. And yes, keeping on top of the mats is a bigger chore than I realized. I grew up with shelties and never had to brush them quite this much. He has a lot of undercoat and it tangles like crazy. Interestingly he doesn't shed nearly as much as my goldens did. Unless he's blowing coat, I don't have to vacuum every day. I'm hoping to change all that this year.... I miss having a golden (Mack is amazing and always at my feet but it is a different personality) and my fingers are crossed that I will be adding a little brother or sister for him this year.

I hope you are having some better days. I know it is so hard not to have a dog in the house. I always miss the rhythm of the days, all the little things, almost as much as the actual individual dog, if that makes sense. The click of nails on hardwood, thump of tail on the wall, knowing that as soon as I'm awake he is awake and wanting attention. Praying for your peace.

Nolefan, what you said about rhythm of the day is exactly it. But all and all, I just palin miss him like crazy. Especially like sunny days like we have here today. I would have dressed like an eskimo and just sat outside with him -- he loved just watching anything.

My Smooch used to love to lay in front of the patio window and stare outside!
It is so true about the RHYTHM. Ken and I could NEVER stand the silence!

So sorry for your loss of Harley, I was so busy loving Bridgett I never got on here much. The pain and quietness is unbearable I know. I have three other Goldens and I hear nothing but silence. I pray that your pain eases and I know Bridgett and Harley are romping together. ((Hugs))

Kathy, I know it is 3 weeks ago you lost your beloved Harley. I know what you're feeling, and it's not easy. I know that when we lost Buddy, and another week would go by without him, it seemed surreal, like time was passing so fast. But we will remember our boys together, and I hope they are having fun at the Bridge, Heaven, or whatever wonderful place they're at. Thinking of you...

thinking of you and sending healing thoughts. It is so hard to loose them. Every day after the terrible loss, just makes loosing them that much more final. It takes a lifetime to adjust to the gaping hole in your heart.
