RootBeer is just beautiful. I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our Oakley on November 23rd suddenly and unexpectedly to hemangio. I know how you feel, how you are playing it over and over wondering if you missed something or should have done something differently. While I still ache for Oakley and the tears still flow, I have found that by reading the stories and responses on this forum I am beginning to find peace. First that Oakley went quickly and did not suffer, and 2nd that he lived every day of his 9 years to the fullest with his brother Seger and our human family who loved him to pieces. Your grief cannot be minimized, but you have found a wonderfully supportive forum with which to share the many emotions you will feel over losing such a beautiful and loved pet. Please know I am thinking of you at this very difficult time. Sleep peacefully RootBeer. Look for Oakley at the bridge - he loves to romp around and play silly

I am so sorry that you are going through this. There is never a good way to go

Give yourself permission to release yourself of the guilt. At that age with sudden death there are often no signs. Rootbeer was granted a swift and peaceful passing which is actually a such a blessing even though it does not feel that way at the moment.

When the time is right (it could be sooner than you think) fur buddy will knock on your heart sent by Rootbear to help heal your pain and bring joy back into your life.

Good luck with your healing. The firsts are always the hardest!

So very sorry about Rootbeer. She was beautiful. It is horrible that it was so sudden and definitely harder on you but and least it was quick and she didn't suffer. Godspeed RB.

Wish I could give you a big hug..we all know the pain you're feeling, shock and disbelief. You will go through many emotions, we all know them too well. Sometimes we lose them so quickly, it doesn't seem real. I was in shock for several days just trying to process what had happened. I cry everytime I read a new post like this because I know what you are, and what you will be going through. Please come back, this forum has helped so many through this. Root beer has a beautiful face and such a sweet expression. I lost my Laney suddenly to hemangio. A client put it into perspective for me, by saying, that at least she only ever had one bad day. My heart girl, Sally died from hemangio, also. I had a little more time to realize she was sick... I grieved for a year.... It was very hard for me to get through... And as wonderful as my husband is, he has that New England get over it attitude... So not much support there.... It will take time. Remember you have great memories.
