AVMA Recall List

Here is the link to the current year's list of pet food recalls as set out in the American Veterinary Medical Association website:

http://www.avma.org/petfoodsafety/recalls/2010/default.asp

The general link for recalls on their site is here:
http://www.avma.org/petfoodsafety/recalls/default.asp
You can report an adverse reaction by clicking on the links provided in this section.

This does not cover all recalls of supplements and other things pets may ingest, but it does list a few of the supplements from United and Tabs Limited.

I'm rather surprised to see Nature's Variety in there. However, a raw diet food has got to be harder to keep safe... E. Coli, Salmonella... anything present in fresh foods.

Good site Anne. Unfortunately, hypervigilance is so important now, but still after the fact. Home prepared (cooked) is looking better and better.

To be honest, home cooking may be a bigger risk for bacteria contamination....at least that is what the health experts are preaching. I think I heard once that there is more bacteria in a home kitchen than in the toilet. Not sure how true that is but it makes me gag to think it is. So, I think whatever you choose should be what works best for the dog and then pray that it's sanitary.

I know, because the disinfectants you are supposed to use in your kitchen are toxic to living creatures and the environment too..........

I've used that cleaner! The one I'm currently using is a mixture of distilled water and apple cider vinegar. Barkley's holistic acupuncture vet recommended it for his ears and it worked so well I tried it on the countertops and it was fabulous.
