Diamond Pet Food Suspends Delivery of All Brands made in SC

I am not going to feed TOTW I guess. Thank god I am now so paranoid about my dogs food. When they finish up the Wellness I think I will put mine on FROMM's Chicken a la veggie with Honest Kitchen as a topper (instead of canned food).

If anyone has been thinking about switching away from a Diamond produced kibble, this ought to make the decision pretty easy.

   ALERT FOR DOG PEOPLE!!! Diamond Suspends delivery of ALL food from it's South Carolina plant. If you have any food made by Diamond, call the manufacturer and check to see if it was made in that plant. These foods are made by Diamond but may or may not be made in SC...CALL and ASK! :

I agree-I am not sure the story is accurate. I went to their website, and the only recall listed is still the voluntary one for Lamb and Ric. They do give the bag information so you can check. I also emailed them to ask about the other story but have not heard back yet. I have to buy dog food this afternoon, so I hope I hear something soon!

I just called Diamond myself.

*They have stopped delivery out of SC to do a thorough cleaning and check before sending food out of there.

All 3 plants manufacture ALL brands they make.

They do not believe the problem of this potential salmonella problem came from the source, but are not sure where it stemmed from.

They always screen products before putting it in any of their food for safety.

They source the majority of their products from the US--but not all--but cannot verify which ones are outsourced.

She was very nice. Call for yourself if you need reassurance or confirmation. 800-442-0402.

Also, it's not additional recalls at this point--it's just stopped delivery out of SC as a precaution.

THis is very concerning to me. That the plant makes all different foods. That they suspend shipments to clean..... shouldn't that be a routine happening between different lots of food, not something that is extraordinary?! Also, that they refuse to be transparent about where specific ingredients are sourced from is totally unacceptable to me.

Agree.

And I'd just like to say this. I used to work for a manufacturer in customer service (not dog food, but still).

If we had "issues" arise that could affect quality, we were scripted as to what to say and what not to say. The important thing to the company is not to alarm the customer and make them question you and your products.

Not saying Diamond is doing that, but.....................
