John "Hooch" Vayda 5/26/62 - 12/13/08

I got a call a short time ago that John passed away in his sleep this morning. He was not in any pain and I believe that his last days were spent at the places he loved most, home with his family and being on the forum. Please say a prayer for his family...Cindy, Tyler, Kyle, Ashley, Scarlett and his mother during this sad time. When you remember Hooch remember the fun times being on the forum, the trip from hell, the funny jokes and the funny Hoochism's. Remember that he always kept his sense of humor thru the good times and bad times. He loved his family, his dogs, and college football teams Alabama Crimson Tide and Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The forum was his life and he said to me many times that everyone here meant the world to him and because of everyone on the forum his life was more enriched. Hooch would want you to know that all the kind thoughts and prayers through out the years kept him going during the difficult times and he said he was blessed to have made so many friends thru the golden retriever forum.

Since the forum was so important to him, in leiu of flowers please make a donation to GRF in his name. He loved this forum so much since he was home bound due to his illness and made so many dear friends because of it.
Hooch you will dearly missed and greatly loved by all.

I just got the message and I am so sorry. I am in a bit of shock. I met Hooch online in 2003 or 2004. He was always there for me when I needed him to be.

My heart goes out to Cindy and her family.

I really didn't think it would ever happen, I thought he'd be here longer than me. I am stunned. This takes the breath right out of me.

My thoughts and prayers are with Cindy now. Both of them fought such a long brave battle.

Hooch was loved by all here on the GRF. I really don't think there will ever be another member like him. I know we will all miss him very dearly. His entire family will be in my thoughts today and throughout the holiday season.

God's Speed and RIP Hoochwa. Please say hello to all our friends at the bridge.

Hooch was loved here. His wit and compassion were amongst the things that I will remember about him. My sympathy goes out to Cindy, Tyler, and family. The world lost a wonderful man and heaven gained an angel.
