It sounds like is doing well, when they can complain about the hospital you know they are doing better! Lots of prayers and good thoughts for you both!

I am so glad that he is recovering well and the doctors are ready to move him into his own room. I bet that will help a lot. I am laughing that he hates the hospital food. Just keep that up your sleeve and when he starts complaining about your healthy oatmeal at home you can ask him if he'd prefer to check back into the hospital for the 5 star stuff.

His hospital must be a big one. My first daughter was born at itty bitty Colquitt County Regional Hospital in south Georgia almost 16 years ago and I still remember that they had some of the best vegetables I've ever had. It must have been someone's grandmother doing the cooking, my favorite was the stewed tomatoes and okra, so wonderful

I am so glad to hear that he used the F word in the same sentence as cigarettes, I will pray very hard that he will have the strength and self control to never, ever pick up another one of those things again. Thank you for updating us, I've been thinking about you.....

Hi!!

WHEN WE WERE THERE YESTERDAY MONRING THEY HAD SAID HE COULD BREATH JUST FINE ON HIS OWN, BUT THEY WANTED TO WEAN HIM FROM THE BREATHING MACHINE THEY HAD PUT HIM ON DURING SURGERY, AND FIGURED IT WOULD BE OFF IT LAST NIGHT. iI TELL YOU, I HEVER SAW SO MANY IV DRIPS AND MACINES HOOKED UP TO ANY ONE PERSON IN MY LIFE. THEY EVEN HAD HIM TIED DOWN BY WRISTS TO MAKE SURE HE DIDN'T PULL ANYTHING LOOSE.

WELL THIS MORNING WE FIND THEY HAD REMOVED THE MBREATHING MACHINE LAST NIGHT AS PLANNED AND CUTTING BACK ON THE AMOUNT OF MEDS HE IS GETTING. HOWEVER, SINCE THEY HAD TO THIN HIS BLOOD SO MUCH PRE SURGERY, HE IS STILL GETTING BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS UNTIL THE BLEEDING STOPS. THEY SAID HE COULD HAVE GONE INTO HIS PRIVATE ROOM TOMORROW, BUT DO NOT USUALLY MOVE PEOPLE AROUND ON SUNDAY SO WILL BE MOVED TO HIS PRIVATE ROOM ON MONDAY.

I COUDN'T BELIEVE THAT AFTER HE WAS SO OUT OF IT YESTEDAY THAT THIS MORNING HE SAT UP AND THEY ACTUALLY GAVE HIM BREAKFAST. I HAD TO LAUGH AS HE SAID HE GOT "FAKE EGGS AND NASTY PANCAKES" AND HE DIDN'T EAT MUCH. iS USE TO MY HOME MADE BUTTERMILK PANCAKES AND TO REAL EGGS--AND I BET THEY DIDN'T ALLOW HIM THE AMOUNT OF BUTTER ANE SYRUP HE USES HERE.

I CALLED THIS AFTERNOON ABOUT 3:00 TO SEE HOW HE WAS DOING--AND ACTUALLY GOT TO TALK TO HIM. HIS FIRST WORDS WERE "MY CHEST HURTS LIKE HELL AND I AM NEVER GOING TO SMOKE ANOTHER **** CIGARETTE." hoPE WHEN HIS PAIN GOES AWAY HE REMEMBERWS ALL THIS AND KEEPS TO HIS WORD.

AGAIN i HEARD HOW NASTY THE FOOD WAS...EXCEPT FOR THE ICE CREAM (SUGAR FREE AND LOW FAT I AM SURE). aLSO HE IS READY TO GET INTO A ROOM SO HE CAN CALL PEOPLE AND NOT HAVE TO WAIT FRO THEM TO CALL HIM....AND HE FIGURES OUT OF ICU HE WILL GET RID OF MOST OF THE DRIPS AND MACHINES.

I ALREADY KNE THE FOOD WAS NASTY. THAT IS THE HOSPITAL I WAS IN WITH HIP SURGERY AND WHEN YOU CAN SIP YOUR OATMEAL THRU A STRAW---WELL THAT SAYS IT ALL. WAS LIKE THEY HAD DIPPED A SPOON OF OATMEAL IN A DISH OF BOILING WATER AND THEN REMOVED IT, JUST LEAVING A SLIGHT OATMEAL FLAVORED WATER. YUK--AND ALMSOT EVERYTHING WAS THAT BAD. HE IS GONNA REALLY DROP SOME POUND WWHEN HE GETS TO HIS ROOM AND THEY BRING IN ALL THAT DIET FOOD FOR HIM...AND ABOUT 1/4 OF THE AMOUNT HE USUALLY EATS AT THAT.

BUT AT ANY RATE, HE IS DOING GREAT AND BARRING ANY SUDDEN COMPLICATIONS, HE IS ON THE ROAD TO A FAST RECOVERY.
So glad to hear Jerry is complaining about the food and they will be moving him to his own room. Praying for both of you every day!
