Update: Dad has been on radiation since 1/15. He's supposed to get 10 days and then stop. So, if I'm counting right, hell stop radiation on my birthday (1/24). He has a follow-up with his oncologist on 2/5 and they want to do another colonoscopy.

SM says he is a mess. The radiation made him really weak and is unable to have loose or solid poo. All liquid.

My heart broke when i read it. I had to step outside and let it go. I found some reasonable tickets on Southwest. $82 + taxes each way. Ill try to go up for a weekend every couple of months[

I'm so sorry. Watching my dad decline was the hardest thing I've ever done. Sending prayers and hugs.

Thank you! When he was first diagnosed, it was before I was with my now-DH. I made him promise he'd walk me down my aisle. The night of my wedding, i pulled my dad aside and said he has to pinky promise to be around when I have kids.

I love my dress! It was hard finding a red wedding dress in my $$ range. And i had to get a costume veil because not a single bridal boutique approved of me wanting a black veil. The whole ensemble is very much me. Lol.

You will always treasure the pictures. I lost my parents within 6 months of one another, at the ages of 86 and 91 and you NEVER HAVE THEM long enough.

I'm glad you found some better prices on SW. They may even make you smile during the pre-flight presentation. . You won't regret having the extra time with him.

I guess I was so blunt because when people become fragile there are just no guarantees. My husband declined so rapidly it was amazing and very sad. People were stunned. Which is why I say "seize the day."
