Just wanted to share , walking to my child's school today ,in a small town exactly like Newtown but in Canada , I was touched to see they had the flag flying at half mass. It was a silent reminder that it could happen anywhere and to make each day count. I watched all the kids run out at the bell and it seemed that there were a lot more parents on the yard today then usual all greeting their kids with hugs and smiles. It was a hard first day to get through thousands of miles away , I can't even begin to imagine what it was like for families closer to CT. My heart is still broken for these families.

Even then, we need to be careful to distinguish among the many types and conditions of mental illness. Just thought I'd toss that in. It's clear that we as a country will be having discussions in the coming months about the two topics of mental health care and gun control-access.
I found this article just now explaining why it's unlikely that someone with an autism disorder would have become violent. I thought I'd share it here. It's very clear about the extent to which people with Aspergers are empathetic. Autism, Empathy, And Violence: Asperger's Does Not Explain The Connecticut Shooting

The first one to bring up political, was not me, this isn't about parties, this is about people being killed, for no reason, in time i think we will learn more details. Until then, we all wait, and mourn with the nation.

The Westboro church?

If so, I've heard a lot of people (ironically enough including the KKK) will be anti-protesting and forming a blockade to shield the grieving family and friends from the stupidity of the WBC

As I watch the funerals happen of these precious little children I just get sick to my stomach all over again. I can't even imagine the pain of these families.
I just have to picture these children holding hands and celebrating the true Christmas together in heaven.
I pray for all that are left behind ♥

I can't even wrap my mind around this!!!

Police say an 11-year-old boy pulled a .22-caliber handgun on an elementary school classmate on Monday after his parents allegedly encouraged him to carry it for protection after last week's shooting in Connecticut.
