I've been thinking about Audrey, thank you so much for updating us. And thank you for posting the link to her Caring Bridge Site. Caring Bridge is a wonderful way for us to keep up when you don't have time to check back here. I will be continuing to pray that the doctors come up with the answers for a successful treatment plan and that she responds brilliantly. Praying for your peace and strength as well.

Ellie and Mack

She is more awake today. Her heavy sedative has been discontinued with a lessor one in it's place. She is restrained so she cannot pull out her breathing tube. that is in place just in case she starts showing seizure activity and has to be sedated again (heavily). It's been nice seeing her eyes but also painful because she cannot communicate and is probably VERY scared. We are trying not to agitate her, but with the nurses in there, she gets enough agitation. We are there for her, trying to calm her when she is awake. The next 12 hours are crutial. We hope they will be seizure free. It is hard watching her intabated and sedated. Who can prepare a 7 year old to be in this situation not to be scared etc? I would love to go back 18 days and just give her a huge hug and kiss and tell her that I love her no matter what. We have had a lot of donations of blankets (crocheted & tied). She has a new collection of stuffed animals & we received a Thanksgiving meal from a friend of mine (preschool teacher who had all three of my kids previously). We have been extremely blessed with those who know us (family & friends) and online friends who I have never met and probably will never meet us & Audrey.
We are truely humbled by people's generousity. No words can possibly be said to convey how truely thankful we are.

Saying that, make sure you give your kids (human & golden) an extra hug and tell them how much you care for them. You never know what is going to happen tomorrow.
That said, our Kali is being cared for by a neighbor of ours. She is happy and is getting attention.

Jackie, having had a child in the PICU, my heart goes out to you as you feel like you're in an episode of the Twilight Zone. It's hard to imagine that normal life is going on around you as you sit with Audrey, hoping and praying that this crisis will be solved, never to return. My prayers join yours. Wishing you strength to deal with this, and wishing the doctors the wisdom to get it figured out. Give your little girl a tender smooch from me, please, and tell her total strangers would do anything to take her fear away. Hang in there, mom!

I will give all my babies extra hugs in honor of Audrey. Please tell her that we're all rooting for her to be home soon, with puppy Kali. (have you asked the hospital if you can bring Kali in for a visit? They often allow that.)
