Hello :)

Just wanted to make a proper introduction before I start frantically searching for your tips, tricks and life wisdom.

We are a young couple living with a newly adopted Golden Retriever pupper. His name is Willy (my boyfriend says after a video game character, I say after Shakespeare).

Someone left him out on the street tied to a tree and walked away when we found and adopted him. That was one month ago and now Willy is four months old and our family. He loves eating (anything and everything), playing tug of war, chasing his tail and his stuffed duck. He'd also sleep anywhere and in any position.

Anyway, nice to meet you guys!

What a sweet handsome boy you have. He and you two are lucky to have found each other. It sounds like he had a rough start, but is now in your loving home. How wonderful.

This forum will be your go to place. It is mine.
Enjoy Willy. He's a cutie.

Aww what a cutie Lil golden boy!! Congrats to Willy for finding a good loving home!! That's terrible he was left out there like that but it's a good thing you guys rescued him. We are a young couple as well (25, 23 when we got our golden.) Also, Gamer here. Which game character is he named after? Lol. I used to have a cat named sora from kingdom hearts.

Hello and welcome from the coast of Texas. How lucky Willy is that you found him and rescued him. Rescue/adopte dogs are great. Back in '77 a lost, Irish Setter showed up at our house, no collar, so now ID, now ads in paper for lost IS, no posters and he was sith us 8 years. He never let me out of his sight if he could help it and hubby called him Sandra's Shadow. Until that point, I had always had English Setters.

In '02 we adopted our golden retriever, Honey==already had 3 bought from breeders, but this--well, she had been an hour from being gassed at the county pound and it was love at first sight for us. She was fully grown, heart worm positive, we had her treated and had her for 1`2 years, losing her ain Aug. 14. She was a such a loving dog, always wanting to be with us, kiss us all the time, etc. Upon her death, we adopted a 7 year old blind Great Pyrenees after the nearest golden rescue never replied to to my application. We lost Shaggy after only 3 1/2 weeks to cancer, and then adopted another Great Pyrenees, Sir Moose, and a few months later adopted an 11 year old golden girl. Shophie from her original owners. Had her 20 months and lost her back in Oct., but still have the Pry. All all our adopted dogs hae been so loving and sweet and seemed to know things could have been different in another home. We loved them all so much. Would love anote4hr golden, but are in our 70's and do not think it would fair to get a young golden.

SCOOTER 6/14/94 - 8/22/99
BUCK 2/8/95 - 5/15/07
HUNTER 8/19/99 - 10/16/03
KAYCEE 8-19-99 -5-25-08
HONEY ADOPTED GROWN 12/07/02 - 8/13/14
SOPHIE 1/8/04 - ADOPTED 2/17/15 - 10/12/16
GREAT PYRENEES SHAGGY adopted AT AGE 7 8/31/14 - 9/23/14
