My family and I just moved to Boynton Beach, FL from NH last month. It's been quite an adjustment. We have two young boys (7 & 4) and our other baby is Dunkin our Golden. He's 4 soon to be 5 in September. We are renting a house right now, and I'm suprised how many dog owners live in this neighborhood. One of my neighbors told me there are at least 6 goldens. It's so hot here in the summer, but everyone walks in the evening with their dogs and its been a great way for me to meet people.
There's nothing like a friendly Golden wagging his tail to invite a conversation. Nice ice-breaker. I've even found a Golden Retriever Meet-up group that's local. They get together on a beach in Jupiter, FL (one of the few remaining beaches that allow dogs in FL)
Well, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I'm a little home sick. I look forward to chatting.
Hi and welcome and what a shock move. From New Hampshire to Florida!!! I went to college in Miami and it was a big adjustment for me. I missed the change of seasons so much..
But it sounds like you have a good neigborhood. Cant wait to see photos of Duncan. You will love it here. I certainly can understand why you are homesick though. I love New Hampshire.
sorry you're homesick, but sounds like you have a great neighborhood. and obviously a great doggie, so it will all work out. look forward to hearing more about Dunkin.
His registered name is Dunkin Donut. I adopted him when he was 2, so I didn't pick it. People ask me that a lot. I thought I put his picture in my profile before I posted my hello. Maybe this time it will work.
We're about 20 miles north of you in Palm Beach Gardens. We're spending our summer in Michigan, but are members of the Palm Beach Meetup group that meets at Jupiter Beach. You will love the meetup group and also this forum Best of both worlds.
Welcome to you and Dunkin. It sounds like you live in a great neighborhood and it is nice that you are making alot of new friends here in florida.
In the winter you will enjoy having the mild winters and not having all the snow.
Hello and welcome,
We,are,just about neighbours!.
I live in Boca-Raton,Fl and walk with a group of friends, every morning. You'll see, very soon, you will be able to make some friends!.
Hello and welcome to Florida and to this site. I also live in Fla. I am owner of 3 yr old Shianna. Your Dunkin is gorgeous. I'd be in the pool all day long if I had one.
I'm so sorry you are home sick. I'm sure in no time FL will feel like home. It sounds like you are in a nice neighborhood and a beach where dogs are welcome sounds wonderful.
Welcome from Maine!
Duncan is a handsome pup!
When you start wearing shorts in February/March - we will be dealing with muddy pawprints and towels all over the floors...perhaps that will help with the adjustment to Florida!
Best Regards,

welcome to the board, I love Dunkins name and he's a very handsome boy. We love Florida, we were there again last summer in Sarasota and had an amazing time. My daughter is going again in two weeks with her boyfriend and his parents and they will be staying in Madeira beach and Daytona Beach. I am very very jealous but so excited for her! I have a good friend in Sarasota too who lives between the UK and there..my perfect dream of a lifestyle..except for not being able to have a Golden if we did I am owned by Chester, he will be three at the end of May and also acts unofficially as my medic alert dog..a. very clever boy Enjoy your time here, I hope you can link up with other members living nearby and I am glad your lovely Dunkin has already helped you to meet local people
