My first Golden

I am experiencing my first Golden Retriever, Kylee. She was born February 3, 2012 and comes from field trial lines. I got her for search and rescue work and she's great! I have always had German Shepherds and worked them in SAR, so having a Golden, especially one as active as Kylee is a new experience, I told the breeder she should have come with a warning label! I had no idea one little mouth could get into so many things! I am loving every minute of it though!! I am also working with an agility instructor in hopes of competing with her at some point.

Kylee is fearless and has fit into our family better than I could have ever imagined. My GSD's, a 7 year old female and a 3 year old male adore her. She and the male GSD, Ryker, spend many hours running, playing and teasing each other. She and my female, Jurnee are great friends too. I would have never dreamed I would get so attached to a "non" shepherd! Thanks for letting me join your group.

Judy,

Welcome to GRF. Glad that you have ventured into the world of Goldens. They are such sweet dogs and we'd love to see pictures of your furkids when you can post some.

My dog is Storm and we adopted him in Nov 2010 and he is my first Golden as well. This forum has been a godsend for me when I was first considering adopting a rescue dog. I love the people here as well as the 'vibe'.

Welcome again!

Kylee

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all the nice welcome messages! I will attempt to include some pictures of Kylee and my GSD's although you have no idea what you are getting into when you ask me to post pictures. I probably have more pictures of my guys, especially Kylee than most of you do of your children. ;)

Kylee on the slide at a church playground.
Kylee on the agility equipment at the fire college (long board).
Jurnee, my female GSD. Jurnee is my certified Search and Rescue Dog. One of the pictures of her on the rubble is an actual deployment to Alabama a couple of years ago.

Ryker's pictures didn't post, will try again...
