Hello everyone. Just wanted to say hi and thanks you for having this site. This has been a tremendous find for me / our family. We had a golden from 1988 -1998, I recall his grandfather was OTCH Meadowpond Strut, and the names Topbrass and Bojangles are all on his pedigree. Meant nothing to me as he was just a SUPER DOG ! He was even part of my wedding ceremony , that was the deal ! Anyway, yes i thought rather prematurely but we had to put him down due to bone cancer at only 10 years old.

Could not bear to get another golden so we opted for a Lab from Kelleygreen Labradors (Sally Kelley). Sally matched us with the absolute perfect companion, a yellow lab we named Fletcher, he lived a good 13.5 years, when we put him to rest in Oct. 2011. I miss them BOTH!

I'm here as we started to weigh our options again and may be, could be, possibly, be in search of another Golden Boy ! We will likely go to the IKC show Feb. 23 at McCormick Place here in Chicago. In the meantime, can any give any good breeder names hopefully within a 5 hour drive of Chicago.

Hi, and welcome! We live in Lincoln Park and just went through the breeder search last year for our 2nd pup. We finally decided on Asterling Goldens (Mary Burke) up near Milwaukee. She bred the all time golden champion, James. She is also probably the nicest and most helpful breeder I've ever met. And coincidentally, our pup's grandpa is actually Bojangles! We're picking up our pup in 5 days. I'm not sure if she still has any puppies left from this litter(5f, 6m), but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Thanks for the warm welcome ! Sorry, the intent is strictly as a pet /
companion. Currently have a 17 year old and a 13 year old in the house.

We have another pet, a small lhasa-poo which we rescued back in Jan 2006 as a little pup. We go on 2x a day walk, rain or shine, hot or cold! I remember the rescue group doing 3 separate visits, including verifying our refereces, which is GREAT! But I think we could have adopted a child from a foreign country quicker than the protocol we had to do to secure him. Anyway, strictly as a pet / companion ! Only goal is to possibly do achieve Canine Good Citizen, not even sure if they still do that! Thanks again for the inputs thus far.

If you are looking for a lovely temperament house pet, you might want to contact Sandy Cummings at Argo Goldens (www.argogoldens.net). If she doesn't have a litter coming up, she can help you locate exactly what you are looking for, as she has been breeding for a lot of years and knows most of the breeders in the area. Just be sure to tell her you are looking for a pet, not a competition dog.

Hello. Sorry to ask but is Tahnee also same as Endeavor? When I try to google Tahnee it pulls up Endeavor. We will definitely be attending the IKC show at McCormick place weekend of Feb 23. Thanks again for the input.
