New here

I very recently found this forum while researching breeders. I want to thank you all for your honest & frank experiences and observations. It has been a huge help.

My name is Kathleen and I'm from Jacksonville, FL. One of the members on here actually introduced us to the wonderful world of goldens many years ago and we're still grateful for all her help!

We lost our beloved golden, Dargo, Dec 17th to aspiration pneumonia. He was better than we ever could have hoped for and made our lives wonderful for 7.5 years. It was a sudden and unexpected loss but we are glad he didn't suffer long. Our household just feels empty without him.

We were planning on getting a puppy in the next year or two (we were hoping to avoid the no dog gap) but with the sudden loss we decided to try to find one sooner. In searching I found this forum and it has been so incredibly helpful. Some of the breeders I've contacted after reading recommendations in the forums have been so sweet as well. I'm just glad this forum exists and grateful for all of you who help to educate one another on the breed!

Welcome to the forum. I'm sorry for your loss of Dargo and I wish you well on your search for a puppy. You have come to the right place.
I personally can't function without a dog in my life. We got Vinnie a week after we lost our dog.

Hi Kathleen

I'm new to the site as well. We lost our golden girl Gracie on Oct 17 and she was
our third golden. I thought I would wait some time to consider getting another puppy
and then the house seemed so empty and with Christmas coming I knew I had to
get another pup and so I now have a Golden boy named Sheldon. He is 4 months old.
I love him and he is such a sweet dog.
When you are ready and you will know ,you will find the right pup that will bring
happiness to your home and heart. Wish you the best in your search.

I found this forum much the same way. It's nice talking with other folks who totally get what you are feeling and going thru.

You can never replace but adding a GR pup or rescue help fill the void. I love my pups but still miss my senior boy.
