My golden of 8yrs. suddenly died. We went for our walk came home had a biscuit, brush her. The day was going great. Then suddenly I heard this loud breathing, she was lying on the tile floor, and I knew she was dying. It was a matter of 15 mins, on a sunday afternoon. She died in my arms. The Vet wasnt sure what happened, he name of a few things..... My heart is broken.....

I am so sorry this happened to you and your girl. Many times when a Golden dies suddenly it is due to hemangiosarcoma, which sneaks up on you without warning. In May my dog showed some very subtle signs of illness, and when I took him to the vet I was told of this horrible diagnosis and given the choice of an emergency splenectomy or euthanasia. Of course I chose the splenectomy, but from what the doc saw it had metasticized and it was too late to do much of anything. I enjoyed one month with him before he passed. Had I not taken him to the vet that day, it is likely he wouldn't have made it through the day. Many are not as lucky as I to be given any notice, and their dogs simply die unexpectedly from undetected internal bleeding.

It doesn't matter what the cause. It hurts no matter how or why. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that you were there with her when she passed, she was not alone. My deepest sympathies.

I am so sorry for your loss. I too, have lost a beloved golden suddenly, and at a young age. It was a total shock and the not knowing why or how was the hardest part. I wish I had found this forum then as there are many wonderful people on here that are willing to listen and would have helped me through that difficult time. I'm sure you will find the friendship and support you need here, whenever you are ready for it.

I am sorry for your loss.
This sounds like either a cardiac related event, ie SAS, or a hemangio. It is tragic.
