| Cody's dad, I know what a tough decision you have to make, for me and Tom, his quality of life had to come first and yes I still feel guilty but I'm sure I made the right decision for him. Only you can make that call and only you will know what is the right thing to do. Wishing you all the best in whatever you decide

| Tears well up as I read your last post. This is such a very hard place to be. As others have said, the right course now is the course that is full of love and what is best for Cody. In your place, I would take the weekend to enjoy every minute with Cody and spoil him thoroughly before trying to make a decision. Give yourself time to breathe, to grieve, and to see how Cody feels about life. Then, if you listen to your heart, I think you will know what to do. Holding Cody and you gently in my thoughts and prayers, Lucy

| I wish I could do more than just say "thank you" to all of you for your support. You have truly made this path we're travelling a little easier to walk along. Cody is doing well. He's sleepy a lot of the time (probably due mostly to the meds), but still playful and affectionate as always. We're still gathering information about our options, but my brain, heart and gut seem to be telling me that Cody wants to go ahead with surgery. Going to reconnect with the neurologist on Monday, and hopefully make a final decision early next week. Will keep you posted! Take care, my friends. |

| CodysDad CodysDad I can't believe I am first seeing your posts about Cody. I lit a candle for him. I am so very sorry to read all he and you are going through! There are so many on this forum that have been down the same road and in the end all that is important is loving them and making each day the very best! Feed him whatever he wants and take lots of pictures! We had no warning before losing our Snobear and Smooch, so I know what I would have liked to do. I will be praying for Cody. | Update. After compiling an enormous amount of research and some deep soul searching, we've made the decision to go ahead with surgery. Cody's still so full of life, I know in my heart that he's not ready to lay down and admit defeat just yet. Originally scheduled for today, we've postponed the surgery until this Thursday as I just need these couple extra days with him first. You have all been so supportive, I truly can't thank you enough. Please keep Cody in your thoughts and prayers this week. He's actually licking my laptop screen right now, which I imagine is his way of saying thanks to you all. ![]() I'll post another update by Thursday night/Friday morning to let you know how the surgery went. Take care. |
