Oh, my momma - how I miss you so. I'm so grateful for the relationship we had and the time we shared. Why is death a part of life? I love you, mom. Happy mother's day. I just am so sad that you're not here to tell you. I kept thinking this morning that I needed to call you and then the dull, deep ache and longing happened and I remembered. I lost my best friend when you went home to be with the Lord. The only solice I have is that some day I will see you again and you'll be cancer free, you're little bent back will be straight and your long legs will still be long legs. haha
What a beautiful lady you were. I want to play marbles with you again. I'll bring the marble board when we are reunited again.
Dad's doing okay. I know he misses you every day but he's doing well. You'd be very proud of him. I know you were worried about him but he's doing remarkably well. I do his check reconciliation, of course, when I come to see him, but he's keeping up with that well also. He's playin bingo in your place every Monday night but has only won a few times. He always tells me he's subsidising the winners. But he goes and I'm glad. He's also still playing cards in the afternoon if there's enough for 4 which is most days. Usually it's Kay, Shirley, Jim and dad. He's going to coffee every morning with Don who's failing.
There's so much I want to tell you, mom. Like Fred down the street has prostate cancer but is doing pretty good. Oscar moved into a retirement home and is pretty happy there. He's still doing great for 94. Aunt Helen is doing well as well and Uncle Gene has a - girlfriend! - can you believe it? An old school mate that he's reconnected with again and when I spoke to him yesterday he sounded happy! Not bad for 83 ya think?
Mom, Melinda and Brian's son, Noah is a very handsome and happy 3 month old. He's so darn cute! And, Darryn totalled his car the other day. He's fine and it wasn't his fault. He only got ticketed for having 3 friends in his car which is a big nono for new drivers here.
I'm going to go out and plant some flowers today. I got some very pretty geraniums in your memory, mom. I know how you love them. There's white, red and varigated pink. I tried to start some vinca's inside but it just didnt'work. I'm going to go and find some today as I know you loved them as well.
Your tulips were beautiful this year, but Larry said that the lilac bush does - as you suspected - have boars. I'm not sure if he's sprayed or what yet, but he'll do his best. He and dad are getting along pretty good for the most part. Larry doesn't say much you know, and that bothers dad but all in all they're making their own way without you. We all are. Mom - I love you and miss you. I knew it would hurt, but I certainly didn't expect this!
Oh, Cole - you'd love him. He's a little over a year now and a very light colored golden. His tail is a weapon of mass distruction, though! I brought back with me last time I was out to see dad your little table and shoe collection. It's in the bedroom and so far, it's escaped the wag of Coley's tail. Some how I think he knows it's precious to me. We're going to take him swimming later today - the first swim of the season and only about the 5th in his life time. He'll have a blast.
Well, mom - I've got to go get my summer stuff out and put away my winter stuff before I go to Lowes to get the plants. Again, mom - I love you and thank you for being the best mom in the whole world. Happy mother's day.
