How tall is your male golden?

I hope you excuse me for starting this thread, but as i may have written, last week in the park a woman was looking at Bell and telling me:''He's gorgeous, but he's sooo short..''I was not comfortable hearing this, because this hight thing has been a dread of mine since i was kid, i'm pretty short myself...And for him too..He was going pretty tall-22 inches at 6 months, and then he nailed it-he stopped growing for many months.I was beyond worried. Then, after he turned one he grew more than an inch-now he's over 23.2 inches(59 centimeters).
So please, say to a person that's 1.56 meters tall her dog is tall enough...

He's perfect, right within the golden standard. My boys are on opposite ends: one is 21.5 inches and the other is 25 inches.

He's within the breed standard, so he's not short. That's what you should have told her

That's how it is with Gilmour and Milo. Milo towers over Gilmour...

He's fine. Perfectly normal.
Riley's a pretty big boy - just a hair over 25 inches.

He's certainly not short but right within the breed standard which obviously the woman at the park doesn't know.

Well, Ranger is a flattie cross but at 2 years, he's a shade over 25'', which I think is in the tall range of male goldens but a little too tall for a flat coat? He's also freakishly long...

Don't listen to people who make remarks like that you know your boy is in standard. Or just give a flip "actually he's not" and walk away.

Darby is tall/big he jumps 24" in agility I have never measured him but when he stands by the jump he is ~ even with it.

I'm told the breed standard for boys is 24" with an 1" allowance on each side so he's fine.

It's hard not to get defensive when people make ignorant comments. My puppy is teething so I always warn people that he's nippy if they want to pet him. Especially little kids. One woman saw me holding my puppy in a sit so the kids could pet him and said, "Your dog doesn't like people?"

I said, "He LOVES people but he's teething." She kind of sneered and walked away. At first it upset me but then I thought, "Who cares? She's nothing to me." I know my puppy is sweetest natured guy in the world!
