Can someone check on K9data how many points my dog has as a outstanding Sire. Firemarks Prayer of Jabez. The titles confuse me. Thanks.

this dog is worth 13 at this point Pedigree: Max Q Saint Louie RN MH CCA *** VCX
this dog is worth 13 at this point as well: Pedigree: Maximum Magician CDX SH WC
This dog is worth 10 today Pedigree: Castile Creeks Little Piece Of Carpet MH
This dog is also worth 10 today Pedigree: Semper Fi Buz Off MH

You have two more that have JH so if either of them gets their SH you have it... OR you can do on the one w a WCX and a CD a CDX and then that one can be your 5/6 combo. ALMOST THERE! Congrats!
That's all assuming k9data is correct on the titles.

For those in the know I would like to understand what you are talking about with points and how it ALL works. I'm guessing it might have to do with show point accumulation. A link to a more comprehensive explanation would help this "Goldenless For Now" inquiring mind.

Don't mean to hijack the thread. It is perpetual talk on forum after all.

LOL people who have been in Goldens for decades sometimes have a problem w the VC/X scale (which is used to determine OS/OD as well, as far as point values). To get an Outstanding Sire-takes 5 get who between them earn 48 points- and nothing counts below 7 points unless added to an animal who already has a quallfying title (one worth the 7). EXCEPT!!! One of the 5 is allowed to have a combo of a 5point and a 6point title... the rest must all be over 7 points. So, in this fella's case, his get w a WCX(5) and a CD (4) would need that CD to become a CDX (6). .. but you can only have one like that. Of course his get w the MH on the way would remove that need for the CD to become a CDX because the MH is worth 10 points and he will be well over the 48.
Outstanding Dams- takes 32 points spread among 3 and you can have one combo offspring.

Versatility Certificate- takes 12 points between a mandatory field and conformation title as well as one or more performance title. A CH is worth 9 points (so the 'cheapest' way to do it w a CH is CH, RN, WC- the RN is worth 1 and the WC 3) A VCExcellent takes 20 points and neither of them allow cumulative titles- so if you have a UD (8 points) you also have a CDX(6) and a CD (4)but you can only count the UD 8 points. The 'cheapest' way to do it in that case is w a CCA (1) and a WC(3) and that gets you right on the money.
When I say 'cheap' I do not intend to demean it in any way - I admire any VC and how the dog gets it matters little to me- it's that he excelled in at least one arena and dipped toes in at least 2 others and that that is honored is a wonderful thing.

Thanks for the links to explain the points. Those points aren't easy to come by considering all the training a dog would need in multiple fields. Is this point total accumulation a common thread with other breeds of dogs? It would explain reason for showing for breeders, accumulating points for dog value. Never mind the endless training a dog would need to be versatile. Very impressive.

I think several sporting breeds have versatility programs.
The OS/OD program uses the VC/X point scale but the offspring do not have to be versatile neccesarily- some conformation only people think it takes 6 and 4 (Os/OD) because they never have qualifiers who have tail titles to add points to the qualifying title.
It does take a lot of commitment or money or both to do VC awards- and it takes great bitch owners who have wonderful puppy people (for the OS) or a breeding program that draws motivated folks (OD) to do the Outstanding Producer awards.
