What you do with your golden, when you are ill?

I have not felt well last couple of weeks then bang, got really unwell last few days. I have to admit I pushed myself bit hard even though I felt bit over tired. Ended up ER 3 days ago & the doctor said I need full rest. I always have little low blood pressure but last 3 days my blood pressure has been too low (because of unwell, couldn't eat, couldn't rest).
Unfortunately, my husband is away & back home a week later. My 8 years old daughter has been stayed with her aunty who works at my daughter's school since 3 days ago because I am not able to drive her school & do other things for her :(

The problem is Jon. He stuck with me at home. I still try to play with him at backyard but after few mints later, I am already exhausted. I tried to go for walk but my head spinning because of Low blood pressure so had to rush back home. He has his goat horn to chew, his toys & treat dispenser that occupied him for awhile but no walking, no park, no swimming for last 3 days. He seems ok, but feel so bad for him.

What do you do with your golden when you are unwell?

I had to be hospitalized last year for a medical illness, and I was there for a week. I put Piper in doggy daycare, until my mom could fly out to see me and take care of her.

If your dog is a daycare candidate, boarding him for a couple of days might be an option. Or if there is a dog walker in your area who could come by. I don't know if you have Rover.com in your area, but that might be another option.

But sometimes if you are just feeling really bad for a few days, and are on the mend, its ok if they don't get as much exercise (provided they aren't freaking out in your house!).

I hope you feel better soon!

If friends or family members are not available, I've had great luck finding local dog sitters, boarders, and walkers at reasonable prices on Rover.com. I don't think they are everywhere, but if they are in your area, it's a great option. There is another online service I had heard about from someone, but cannot recall the name. Most of the people on Rover that do boarding keep the dog in their home with them as opposed to a commercial kennel where it would be more of a caged location.

Thank you all.
I contacted local doggy daycare centre & they said they do drop & pick up service with bit of extra charge. I am not allowed to drive till my blood pressure up to at least lower normal :( So their pick up & drop off service sounds great for me.

He will go there for 3 hours tomorrow. Didn't want him to stay there full day since it will be his first day away from me. If he does well, guess he will go there for few hours everyday till my husband back home & when I have my surgery.

I hope you feel better soon. I'm glad that you found a doggy daycare that can do pick up and drop off, that sounds perfect.
