I was told to stay away from Greenies. Can't remember why...

I did a search on Urban legends because it seemed like this came up before. Here is the article

http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/greenies.asp

I don;t use them personally for dogs that are big chewers that try to chew down everything in one sitting as the ends could break off causing damage. Don;t know a thing about Dentastix.

Greenies can cause abdomial obstruction is what I have heard. It has cause several dogs to die. I also have been told that rawhide bones can cause the same thing to happen. I keep away from both of them

I don't use them. I hate the way they break up.

I now give Brady a boiled egg with shell every week. I believe it was Pointgold that made that recommendation. It is cheap and he loves it!

I give mine dentaStix they love them. I tried the greenies and they would swallow them near the end and then get sick so I switched to dentaStix. I would like to know more about the boiled egg with the shell also.

I tried them once, Daisy ate them too quickly! My hubby works for 3M, so he got me a sample of their dental treats. They have a neat shape that Daisy liked, though they were kind of small. She didn't try to swallow the holw thing like the Greenies.

I too am curious about the egg with the shell, as that is something I would be up for doing.
