Some how I missed this! Im so sorry Sydney's Mom!! Im Sydney is feeling better. I worry about Chloe eating salt too since she is such a paw licker. I always wipe her paws off when she comes in from a walk but I worry about her injusting salt. I know walk her with Muttluks and its made a huge difference.

Thanks guys. Before bed update is that muffin has been sleeping for most of the night. I fed her the other half of her dinner, she drank a bunch of water, chased the cat a little more, stared me down while I ate popcorn (which I gave her none of tonight).

She's a little quieter than normal but she was awake a lot today.

I'm sure all is well. Thanks so much for the support here - I would feel so crazy without you guys. If anything changes - you'll be the first to know.

Oh no!! I'm sorry Sydney hasn't been feeling well today. I hope she's back to her old self tomorrow. Begging for popcorn is a good sign.

She's back to herself today! First world problems like not being able to go outside and chase the squirrels whenever she wants and stuff.

She just threw up again.

It was 10 minutes after our third walk of the day. Mostly water and some undigested treats which she'd gotten at the park.

My assumption is that she ate a lot of snow? Although, she ate a lot of snow on our other two walks.

Maybe this snow had some salt in it? We drove to the park to avoid the roads/side walks but there is some salt used in the park in places.

She ate well this morning, was her energetic self, drank water, pooped/peed. Wants all food I'm eating (don't get it all). No evening poop but that's not really abnormal for her. I gave her some yogurt earlier for some good bacteria after yesterday's throw up.

If your town only uses salt for treatments of the roads and walkways it shouldn't be a problem.
However, within the last 10 years cities here are using a combination of both salt and brine. Brine is derived from oil and gas wells and it's the waste where brine is derived. It's cheaper and it works well. In some European countries, Austria for example, car manufacturers are writing warranties without corosion clauses. Brine is a main cause for rust occuring on the undercarriages.

I checked and Toronto uses brine (water + salt) with road salt.

We weren't on the road this afternoon, thank goodness.

oh nooo!!! Poor Sydney. I was hoping she'd feel better today. How are her gums?

Hope Sydney is doing okay. No advice from me, however. No experience with salt, snow,and roads.
