I agree with Addie's Mom! It won't hurt to check out an "all breeds" rescue. I agree with you that there is someone out there for Prince. And you will be surprised as he might be swooped up by a golden rescue if word gets out that all he needs is socialization and training

I hope and pray you find the right home for him, i would think with the evaluation you had done, it says clearly what this boy is,if i did not have more than i need, i would take him.

You can try the Golden Retriever Club of Greater of Greater Los Angles Rescue--they have a behavior modification program & trainers & access to behaviorists, I know for a fact they took in a dog with a bite record as well have taken in dog aggressive dogs from out of state rescues & rehabbed them. May be worth speaking with a volunteer.

You also may want to contact Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue as they had to PTS one of their rescues due to human aggression despite their best efforts to save him.

It is a tough call. What about the breeder you got the dog from? I tend to be in the same place as Shalva on this. I have had clients rehome their dogs with bite history to "country homes" with limited stranger interaction. And a client of mine just drove her dog to a sanctuary after her giant breed dog badly bit her daughter.... The rescues would be liable if he bit someone again. Just from your description, it sounds fear based, so "alpha" energy would probably not work...

I have confidence that you will find the perfect home for Prince. You and your brother have gone to great lengths for this guy. I followed your first thread closely.
As MercyMom said, keep the faith.
You have a lot of support here and we're all pulling for Prince ♥
How's your mom doing?
