Take it seriously

This is a nut case-the person that threatened Loki and you.
Stay away from him.
I would change my walking pattern and not walk by his house, again.
I live next to a man that hates dogs, and we completely avoid his lawn, grass.
I would never let my dogs go on anyone's lawn anyway.

Let me just say that I have 7 dogs and I scoop a lot of poop. My dogs were always in the back yard and it used to really bother me when I would go out front and have to scoop the front yard because of irresponsible dog owners who let their dog go in my front yard. The front yard is fenced and the only way in is the driveway. So, I finally put a gate across my driveway. Now, I can put my dogs out front too and it also keeps out other dogs. The problem now is that these dogs still come around. The owners will walk their dogs past my house and will allow them to poop right in front of my fence so that when I go out to the mailbox, I have to watch where I step. I agree that this man overreacted to say the least. The only thing that I have done when I see it happening is to go out there with a bag and hand it to them. Both times they just walked away and I was angry but still didn't threaten to shoot them or their dog.
One of my neighbors is not a dog person. He is a cat person and he doesn't have a fence surrounding his property. There is always dog poop in his yard.

I am in no way making excuses for this guy and I am so sorry that this happened to you. I just hope that you understand that it probably had nothing to do with you and instead was the result of many irresponsibly dog owners allowing their dogs to soil his yard.

Unfortunately, you were the target because of other irresponsible dog owners. My husband would never threaten to shoot another dog, but he used to get VERY UPSET at all the poop in our front yard, all around to the back ( we had a corner lot ) in our old neighborhood. It was a very heavily walked road. I think people thought because we had a dog, that they could get away with not picking it up. This poop was outside the invisible fence boundaries, so it definitely was not Brady's. I have heard other people say because there dog's poop is so small, it will be gone in a day - not true!

I would be very careful of any poison that man might set up in his yard or even if he knows where you live. Hopefully, he doesn't actually have a gun, and was just trying to scare you and all other dog walkers.

This would have really upset me. I agree with some others here, change your walk route to avoid any future meeting with this guy. Gun violence is escalating everywhere so don't take any chances with your life or that of your dog.

Wow he obviously has some mental problems. We will get the occasional poop from another dog in our front yard. Big deal pick it up and get on with your life. Poop happens and not everyone is responsible dog owners! I agree stay far far away from this wacko!

Loosely related but funny story: We used to live in a half-duplex with our "front" door on the side of the building, opening into our driveway. This was also the "back" door, as we had to actually take our dogs outside in the driveway and walk them to the back gate to put them in the yard (yeah, a real pain when housebreaking in winter time....). Our neighbor was also in a duplex that was the mirror-image of ours, so his driveway was adjacent to ours and his door was in the same place, except his duplex actually had a door to his backyard from the basement.... He and his wife were to lazy to walk all the way to their basement to let their little yappy dog out into their backyard, so they'd just open the 'front' door and let him out into their driveway. Which meant he was always pooping in our driveway and on our front lawn. Awesome. But we put up with it, annoying as it was to have our company come over and step in dog-poo while trying to get out of their cars with the yappy little mutt nipping at their pant legs....

We had 3 large dogs (two goldens and one elderly dalmatian/heeler), and religiously walked them to our yard and closed the gate. They were never allowed to bark, and were NEVER out of the yard unattended. So one day, the neighbor comes over to my husband and accuses our dogs of pooping on HIS lawn! LOL! I could've died laughing... My husband just said "That's not possible. However, we almost hit little Sparky yesterday when we were pulling into our driveway. He was having a hard time getting out of the way, as he was offloading a heavy package....looks like he could use a little more fibre in his diet, eh?". Neighbor left, Sparky continued to use our driveway and lawn as his personal refuse-site with impunity, and we thanked our stars when we were able to move to a better house..... Moral of the story: People are nutty, and it's not you it's them!

I did realise (afterwards) that this guy thought Loki was pooping out front of his house, when he saw me standing there with him sitting. However, when he did come rushing out shouting, he should have taken the time to look ....& would have seen nothing. Loki only toilets in our backyard, though once when we had been playing in the domain with him, I saw him squat down in 'that position' on our way back to the car. I had forgotten to bring the plastic bag with me ...it was still in the car ....so I shouted at him & pulled him quickly along back towards the car, with the poor pup trying to stop & squat. Got him into the car without incident & drove quickly back home (10 mins). We rushed through the house & put him out into backyard, expecting him to poop right away, but he did not poop until hours later. I think he thought I was angry with him for wanting to poop, poor baby. I felt so guilty & now always have a plastic bag in my pocket, but have never needed to use it. The funny thing with this guy was that we were not on his property. We were on the public footpath & grass verge between his house & the road, so if a dog did poop there, it is actually a public area, not belonging to this guy. It is a fineable offence to not clean up after your dog if it poops, so i actually haven't come across much poop on the streets. We have an open front, but are growing a hedge & will have gates up, because people allow their dogs to poop on our lawn & makes me angry & disgusted, as I once stepped in it on way to work. This morning I avoided that street like the plague on our morning walk!

OMG ....someone threatened to shoot my puppy!

Yeah....even if Loki had pooped there- I think the guys response is a bit extreme! I sure hope the neighbourhood kids never accidentally hit a baseball through his window! Imagine the scene...
