Dreams?

I am wondering if dogs dream or have nightmares? As a night shift nurse, on my nights off I am often up in the middle of the night when the family and maizy are sleeping. I have noticed her make funny noises, almost like whimpers in her sleep. Now she does not do this all the time, but few times per night, mostly when she appears to be in a sound sleep. Do any of your golden babies do this? I am not concerned, just curious as I sit here and watch my princess sleep.

I think most dogs do this. I've even heard Molly softly bark while sleeping.

I often see ours running after something in their sleep, legs moving and sometimes barking softly.

I hear/see Hank dreaming all the time. I often wonder what those dreams are about.

Yep, all our dogs did/do this. Sage even wags her tail in her sleep....it's really darn cute!

Tucker

When Tucker falls asleep on the sofa, I've heard him whimper and move his legs like crazy, as if he's running. I think they run and play in their sleep!! They're probably chasing squirrels!!

Watching Bear dream is by far my favorite past time. The best dream I've seen was when he was around 3.5 months old. All four paws were flicking as if he was running, his nose working furiously, and out of no where this little puppy woof erupted. I almost died it was so priceless.

hehehe!!! I love the dreams!! Brew does this LOTS! Usually starts off as small under his breath woofs, to legs flickering and a tail wag! I like to think he's dreaming of the dog park or his favorite pond, but he's probably chasing the cats! haha

Max dreams, too. He moves his paws, makes sounds, twitches. It is very cute.
