Momentous occasion today

So today it was a sizzling hot 42 degrees celsius (about 107 Fahrenheit) and so I went to the beach and of course took my boy Ollie along too and we went to the doggy beach...I have only taken him to the beach once before and to a dam a couple of months ago...he was always hesitant about getting totally in the water and would usually hover around the shore and sniff about...well he must have grown up and gained a lot of confidence in the past month or so because today he was right in the water fetching tennis balls and absolutely loving it...my GF and I couldn't believe it...the only bad thing was I didn't have my phone or a camera on me at the time to take any photos, we just enjoyed the moment..well the moment lasted for over an hour as he swam up and down, fetching balls and following us around as we walked and swam too...my GF and I are so proud of Ollie today and feel like he took such a big step...Ive only had Ollie for 5 months and he's already made such a huge impact on both mine and my GF's life...we just love taking our boy out, whether it's taking him to the beach for a swim or having him with us when we eat lunch at a cafe...I couldn't imagine not having him around with us and he actually makes us more active and fun as a couple too as we are always out and about with him and watching far less television...life is so much better with a golden!

Great shot of your boy...107 degree's...Wow...we're at 15 degree's...too bad we can't meet in the middle somewhere.

Sonny, the black lab, ran ahead to make sure there were no gophers or jackrabbits in the way. If you don't give a dog a specific job, he'll improvise one for himself and it will invariably be fun. There's a lesson there.

Yay! That's awesome!! This gives me hope that Bear will eventually like the water. Right now he just prances along the shoreline.

Congrats Ollie! That's the way Bentley did it too, refused to get in the lake until one day I didn't have my phone with me and he decided that he was an Olympic swimmer

Dogs are strange. Cassie went from being afraid of the water to me being unable to get her out of the water. I now have to keep her on the leash when we walk by the pool, otherwise she will jump in. And screens... yeah, already replaced two! LOL

It's so much fun swimming and playing with her though. I can't wait till summer again!
