| size and shedding I have an 8 month old golden and he is massive! I'm 5.11 and he is up to my thigh, his paws are nearly as big and my hand and his weight is 35lbs at present We weight his food and the vet says he is just a healthy pup, I am just wondering how much growing there is in him and if we should feed him more! I've have met a few fully grown goldens and he is bigger than them, and people comment all the time about his size and say he must be a cross breed. He continually sheds to, I rake comb him everyday and literally if I stroke him after combing hair is still falling out! Nightmare for hoovering! Will this slow down as he grows? As this forum is fully old GR owners I'm wondering is his size is normal too, thanks |

| I wonder that too. Bear is 37 lbs at only 4.5 months. I bet he'll be close to 50 lbs by 8 months. I heard tales that if the puppy is slow to grow in the first year, it'll be easier on their joints and they still end up filling out in the second year. On the same thought bubble, my gf has a shep mix who drastically slowed down growing after 6 months. Im on the fence with Bears growth. He seems so little, I wonder if hell ever get bigger. He's put on 2 pounds in a month. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App

| mich4242 - can you post a pic or two of your furry baby? Rose at 6 months she is finally starting to shed a little but so far not much. We brush her about once a week now. |

| haha i too thought you meant lbs instead of kg. my boy is close to 50lbs and i was going to say the same as Joyce (bentleysmom) he may be blowing out his coat, i know sometimes it can take me up to an hour to fully groom chester's fur. If im lazy (like today) i usually end up paying for it the following day by sitting on a floor just raking away lol. i would say its normal but im no expert. if people are saying post a picture i would post one just to be safe. |
