I've got a 8 month old pure golden from a champ line.

Ill post some photos of him tmrw morning, we call him Van Gogh because when he was 3 weeks old another dog bit his left ear off...

Any how I've changed his food 3 times in 6 months, we went from eukanuba to blue, then to some grain free company then back to eukanuba... Blue was to gassy for him. My wife an I think it was to rich for him so we placed him back to eukanuba but his hair on top of his back is very rough and he's been shedding alot... And his coat seems to be thin, not fluffy or "full"

I'm going to start to feed him some veggies with his food every day.
Green bell peppers, Zucchini Slices, Carrots Broccoli, to name a few...

Ill add fish oil to his food as well.. I doubt he will eat the pills so ill poke a hole in the caps and feed him that way. I will start off with 3 1,000 mgs each day.

But wanted to get some input on what to do to get his coat to look like it should

I read online it states 1000 mg per 20 lbs for the dog.

I was basing my plan according to my searches online.
Can I use regular fish oil, such as those sold for adults? It's cheaper for me to buy it that way then fish oil meant for dogs...

Is your pup by chance out of Spiceridge? Remember a thread back this Summer where the mom, Tibbie bit the pup's ear off. If so, it would be great to see updated pics of the boy--his puppy (wee puppy) pics were adorable...and of course in any case, pics are always welcomed.

We're based here in Florida, breeder was near hernanado county I heard a golden doodle bit it's ear off... He's currently in training for PTSD, he had gotten his CGC 2 weeks ago and starts next week for his 12 week training for service so were trying to get his coat in shape

Must be a coincidence, this pup would be the same age, florida breeder, champion father & registered name includes van gogh. Anyhow, good luck with the training. Try to find a food & stick with it--it's easy to get caught up in chasing the next "best" food as we all want to do best for our pups.

Wild Alsakan Salmon Oil is for human adults. I believe the vet recommended it because there is less contaminates in wild caught fish, I could be wrong, but I know there was a reason, and the vet recommended if I was going to give them canned salmon to always use the low sodium Alaskan Salmon not Atlantic Salmon, again I think it had something to do with pollutants in the waters where the fish are caught. At the last vet visit she said I could switch them to Krill Oil, which she thinks is even better for them, although it is more expensive. I am just waiting to finish my current bottle of Salmon oil.

Hey guys! Another question the Alaska salmon oil that you pump on the food.
It says for dogs 50 - 75 lbs to use 2-3 pumps but it doesn't say once per day or what the dosage is. Can anyone tell me how many times per day I should use the oil is it once
