That was long.. What a BIG group!! Lovely golden that won.. The judge really went over the dogs. I was surprised by that one dog(bitch? Probably?) that was so spooked at her back end. Poor thing! I did almost fall asleep a few times..i think it was the music! Lol

It took me two sittings to get through the whole thing. The first one, I watched long enough to see Sonny (my new puppy's sire) and then had to give up. Frankly, there were so many excellent dogs in that huge group, I don't know how the judge decided. With that number of excellent dogs, is it weird that Chloe went BoB, Charlie went BoS and Sonny went SD? There seemed to be a number of dogs that were just as good as these three. How do these always seem to get put up? Does it have to do with the judge seeing Beth or Brianna in the ring and he just knows who they have? Or are these dogs really that consistently better than the competition?

So many excellent dogs in that ring. Wow.

It all depends. It could be movement. Charlie moves beautifully. Just because we think the look nice does not mean they are. You would have to put hands on the dog and feel. Hair might be covering up a bad front, long hocks, etc. and actually one our very own forum members bitch was AOM. Very nice bitch. So, huge congrats to Hazel and her owners!

Also, another dog I was looking more into for my girl, I was able to scratch him off! :-) just by watching him move.

I agree there was some real paddling movement, and also some absolutely gorgeous movement. There was a really fat dog, which surprised me, lol. There was one with an almost GSD angulation in the rear and a slope. Do not know who the dog was, but didnt seem as competitive with the rest. It was very cool seeing a junior handler in there competing.

It is amazing the same dogs can win over and over, like Chloe, Sonny, and Rush Hill's Chaos, Sydney and Groovy etc, but these dogs do very much approach the blueprint that is the breed standard. The thing with Chloe is that she truly is moderate, balanced, loves to show and has a very look at me attitude plus is exhibited by her own owner, moves lovely with so much reach- it is very hard to nitpick much about her.
