This story will wreak your heart... I can't help but I thought someone here might be able to or know someone who could. DUFFY... Golden Retriever 8+ years old. This "golden oldie" was found in a dump ! He was then taken to a "shelter" where for 2 months he stayed in some pretty bad surroundings and recieved no medical attention. When he came into Keeper Rescue he was emaciated, filthy, matted and flea infested. He couldn't walk very far and had no muscle tone. He had hook, whip, round and tape worms. He is hearing impaired. Since he has been with us he has been making steady progress and is now ready for his forever home. Duffy has been putting some weight on and is building up his muscles. He has been wormed, vetted and cleaned up. Duffy is very loving and loves people. He enjoys walks (for the exercise and for sniffing of course) and rides in the car. He has learned to play fetch and loves his tennis ball. We are looking for a calmer home with a mature person(s) who can devote themselves to this sweet boy and enjoy all the love he will give. Back before we adopted Bud, I contacted the rescue organization about adopting Duffy. There were several others who had also expressed interest in him, based on the posts on their Facebook page. All I can say is that we never heard back from them. This was back in April. :-(
