| Need you opinion about Sweetie My wife keeps asking me why Sweeties head is so skinny compared to Jack. She says she doesn't thinks she's all Golden. As many of you know I rescued Sweetie off of CL & all I have to go on is what the crazy girl I got her from told me.She said she was full blooded but no papers. It really doesn't matter to me what she id as I love we love her dearly. I'm pretty sure the girl was a BYB & she may be a product of poor breeding but tell me what Ya'll think about her head Thanks

| Maybe it is just a male/female thing. My Cookie's head isn't as large are some of the males we meet. Also, when I was puppy searching, I found that some breeders prefer the larger heads and are breeding for that feature, so there is some variability around. She looks like a happy golden to me! |

| My Bella has a skinnier head than Tucker, too. He's pretty much a classic big boned and big headed boy, and she has a lighter, slimmer frame. And they eat the same amount! She weighs about 20 lbs less, and is much faster on her feet. Tucker is by no means overweight. It's fascinating to me to compare them. Also, Bella's coat is noticeably softer than Tucker's. Go figure. |

| I believe it's a breeding preference. When I was at a dog show recently the dog that won the goldens had the more narrow head. One of the competitors commented on how the judge must like the "old school" American style goldens with the pointier heads and longer coats. My Bear had a more pointier head than Kenzie does.

| She looks like a golden to me. Different pedigrees can have different style headpieces. Still a golden though

| My two are like that. Ranger's head is a lot larger than Roxie's. These aren't the greatest photos but it will show you the difference in their sizes. |

| I have honestly never looked at your sig pic and thought she is anything but pure Golden. Her nose may be a little longer and narrower than the "standard" but really, I would never have noticed if you hadn't asked. I think she's perfectly pure Golden. ![]() On edit, no. Looking at your extra pics, I wouldn't even say longer and narrower.
