with the way he holds his ears I am inclined to think german shepherd mix.

OMG he is sooo cute!
Something about those perky little ears screams "terrier" to me - but I have no clue.
Last time I was at Petsmart looking for a doggie thermometer (which they didn't have) I did notice some DNA test kits on the shelf - although I didn't look or notice the price.
Have fun cuddling w/ your cutie pie.

I think you might be right about him having some terrier in him. My mom has had terriers all my life and he certainly has that look to him. Here's a picture I took about a month ago when I first got him.

He looks alot golden to me except for the ears. I will go with golden and border collie also.
