Hi! I also live in the DC area, in Cabin John (right next to Bethesda). Yuki, my 11 1/2 month old, also went to YDF for puppy socialization, puppy K and 1st grade.
Our teacher was Sarah, and we really liked her a lot, and have stayed in touch.
Yuki is getting neutered on Jan. 2nd, and we're taking a car trip to Texas from mid January to mid February, but would LOVE to get together once we're back from Texas.
I'm so happy to hear about more forum members who live nearby!

PS: I'm so impressed to hear about a 6 month old golden already going for the CGC. I'm hoping that Yuki will get there sometime in the next year, because I really want to do therapy dog work with him, but we've still got a long way to go!

We had Sarah too! Absolutely loved her, and also still keep in touch.

I'm hoping to squeeze in the CGC before all the teenage behavior starts. It'll be hit or miss on whether or not he can stay in a sit when a person approaches without treats to keep him focused on the day of the test. If not...it's a great way to just keep the training going.

I just started yesterday and have Sarah. She seems great, although my favorite part was the puppy playtime.

Have you taken any other classes with Sarah or the other instructors?

Puppy first grade and Puppy K were both with Sarah. We started out with her and she helped us so much that we followed her into Puppy 1st Grade. We're waiting for the next set of classes to open up before we sign up with other instructors but we're actively looking. It looks like they just had Nosework for the winter open up, but it overlaps with our CGC classes so it looks like we'll be waiting until Spring.
