Anybody know anything about this breeder? I'm confused as they claim all clearances are done, but on their dog dog Ria I only see a few listed on the OFA website and it looks like there was a diagnoses of some sort of eye problem (can't remember what) and she's still being bred. Is this an issue? I know there are equivalents to OFA testing, but where can I look at them, or should I just ask the breeder.
I'm not set on a breeder, just looking at all the options. Also, color is not important, this breeder is just one close enough to me.
On their website it says hips and elbows were done by OVC. I don't *think* there is an OVC database.. I would definitely ask to see hard copies of the hip and elbow clearances. As for distichiasis.. I have read on here that it isn't a big deal.
In theory if the dog is being used for breeding in the US, OFA would be the organization to go with... One of the issues with OVC is that clearances could be attained at 18 months or later... And the dogs are pass/fail on hips and elbows, no hip ratings. I believe OVC is longer in the business of ratings. Like the name, Silkspun...
I woiuld ask why they went to ovc for those clearances??? they can be done earlier than in OFA ... they don't need to be redone as GRCA accepts OVC clearances... distichia is not a big deal as long as it is not doubled up on and the age is no big deal
thanks I didn't check the date just the ovc part ...
