Hi everyone,

I've recently noticed that Ollie has a little loss of pigmentation in the corner of his right eye (well on the black rim around his eye- not literally in his eye) ...it's really quite small but I was just wondering if it's anything to worry about or is it something that can sometimes happen (maybe a bit too much time in the sun?) also does anyone knows if the little white spot can sometimes change back to being black?? It's not an infection or anything from what I can tell anyway, just a change in colour but just thought I'd check...I've attached a zoomed in photo and as you can see its quite small but it is definitely there...thanks

How old is he? Is there a possibility of cataracts? From the picture it just looks like a glare but I'm not sure.

There's nothing in his actual eyeball to suggest cataracts, it's a bit of discoloration on the skin on the outside (I guess it's the bottom eyelid)...he's almost 6 months now

Oh! I thought you were talking about something on his eyeball. I guess I misread it. I can see a small discoloration I think but I am not prepared to tell you what its from. Not a scratch or anything?

I don't think it's a scratch, I never noticed a scab or anything like that, just this discoloration

Is it anything like what my dog has in the pigment thread I posted a couple days ago that no one replied to?

No my dogs discolouration is more on the outside, not so much in the corner of the eye...where my dog has the little spot of discolouration your dog has all black like it should be

So the discolouration has gone back to being black not sure what happened but seems all good now

My Chance had exactly that a few years ago. I brought it to my vet's attention and she was not concerned - called it a little "loss of pigmentation". The pigment came back and his eye rim was fully black again. My recollection is that it took a few weeks/months for the pigment to return.
