Hi Everyone, Member Danny (dborgers) and his Golden Andy are approaching the one year anniversary of Andy’s diagnosis with lymphoma. Andy’s journey has been full of twists and turns and is beautifully chronicled in a thread here in the Main Forum by Danny. Danny has done a wonderful job detailing the journey, including some great videos and some funny Andy stories . If you haven’t read about Andy’s diagnosis, fight and recovery, it’s worth spending some time reading. Here is the thread: http://www.goldenretrieverforum.com/golden-retrievers-main-discussion/107006-please-pray-andy-lymphoma.html
Andy is a true fighter, facing the enemy while refusing to give in to his diagnosis, living his life to the fullest each day and enjoying the simple things like trips to the lake or a wonderful taste of people food. Danny is a wonderful inspiration as well, as an example of a loving owner doing everything he possibly can to help Andy win his fight.
It’s been an inspiration to follow Andy and Danny’s journey this past year. Danny has been a source of strength to Andy and even reached out to help others facing a similar situation here on the forum. Several of us want to celebrate the one year milestone anniversary of his Victory over Lymphoma and thank Danny for including us in their journey together. We hope you will plan on joining us on Saturday December 1, here in the Main Forum, in a thread we will create titled Andy’s 1 Year Victory Party. Please stop by when you can and leave a message for Andy and Danny. We want to celebrate, so if your dogs want to join in by posing for a photo in party hats or doing something fun, please feel free to post them in the thread. Celebrate Andy’s 1 Year Victory with us!
Andy loves cake!! He stole mine off the dining room table 2 years ago and ate the whole thing, candles and all. He has a thing for chocolate ... or anything edible!! LOL
I would love to but I cant get on the forum at weekends as my IP address is banned (no idea why) I can only get on the forum at work! So in advance! Happy 1 year victory day!!! :drummer: arty2:arty::You_Rock_:headbang2:artydude
Pixie is tail wagging already! We will try to pass by, but if not possible surely on Monday we will help cleaning up the place (a good party has at least to have confetis and hear all the good stories!
Danny, over Thanksgiving we were in Austin with family. My dil's cousin was there who has a golden (Mr. Wilson) who was dx'ed with lymphoma at age 4. He had quite a rocky road for quite a while but at present he is cancer free and 11 years old. I thought of Andy when talking with him. Here's to you..... a day early!!!
Wow, that's amazing! Cancer is such an insidious and unpredictable disease. The stories I found online when Andy was diagnosed ranged from surviving a month to several years. You just never know. I hope Andy's story will give others hope in the future.

Hudson is chasing bubbles in the sunshine while Tia is looking on laughing at him.
I am enjoying some of my own kind of bubbles
so cheers to you Andy and Danny!
Congrats on the perfect recipe of love, hope, determination, kindness and generosity that you have shown over the past year. Your journey has been truly remarkable and inspirational. Our lymphoma journey did not turn out as well so we know how tough and challenging it is both physically and mentally. You are great team mates.
Thanks for finding the strength to support and encourage others through their own battles as you persist with your own.
We wish you lots of continued success and happy days together.
