Hi everyone ... Had a quick question. I have a 7 month GR - lately he has had some bad breath (it maybe from the new bone he chews on) he hates getting his teeth brushed - does anyone have any suggestions? I heard greenies are dangerous - I had a friends dog die from it ...

I don't much care for greenies either and won't buy them.
Have you tried Nylabones? My dogs love them.
Also,there are dental rinses and sprays out there that remove plaque and help with breath issues.
I have two at home: One is C.E.T. Oral Hygiene Rinse by Virbac
Number Two is Dr. George's Plague Blast

I just started the Dr. George's Plaque Blast for my Golden, that always has a lot of tartar on his canine teeth and no brushing or chewing helps with it. Before resorting to professinal cleaning at the vet's under sedation again, I decided to try it. It is suppose to take 30 days for great results, we are only in for a few days so far.

The first question I have to ask - is he feeling and acting normal otherwise? No loose poop or vomiting? If the teeth are clean, it generally can be an upset stomach or chronic digestive issues causing bad breath.

Have you looked at all of his teeth to make sure they are all fine? No broken teeth or infections in the gum?

He acts fine - has really pretty teeth - I feed him Natures Recipe Grain Free Salmon sweet potato food which he loves - I honestly think it's from the bone he loves to chew.

I just saw your post now. If all of his teeth are okay, and he is otherwise healthy - I've had great results with Old Mother Hubbard's Mother's Solution Fresh Breath cookies. I was skeptical but willing to try. They've really made a difference on Tesia's 12 year old breath.
